Haddockston Water is a picturesque 3-acre lake on the grounds of Haddockston House, 2 miles from Houston. The spring-fed crystal clear lochan has a depth of 4 to 10 feet and provides excellent dry fly /nymph fishing due to an abundance of aquatic and terrestrial insect life.
It is regularly stocked with quality hard-fighting rainbow and blue, tigers and brown trout ranging from 2lb to double figures.

Built-in 1844, Harelaw is a large shallow reservoir, extending to 102 acres and includes over 3 miles of superb wading banks, 4 dam walls, and three islands. An average depth of 5-9 feet ensures that fish can be found virtually anywhere on the fishery, with a maximum of 13ft of water. Harelaw’s moorland setting is also home to a variety of birds and wildlife.
Harelaw offers boat or bank anglers some of the best top-of-the-water fishing anywhere in Scotland.
There are three islands and many shallow bays and peninsulas offering quality drifts and wading from both boat and bank. Harelaw is almost 600ft above sea level and fishing is best with a South Westerly wind with slightly overcast skies or into sunset.

Lawfield is a 5-acre Fishery set in tranquil surroundings on the moors above the village of Kilmacolm. It has been run as a commercial fishery by founder Billy McFerren since 1989 and now by management Fishing is from the bank and platforms only and it can cater to around 30 anglers. The main loch is fly-only and is an average depth of 8ft. The fishery is well stocked with good hard fighting fish from fish suppliers such as the River A-E and Belhaven Trout farms. Fish range from 2lbs average to well into double figures and includes rainbows, browns, blues, tiger, and brook trout. The fishing lodge at Lawfield is very comfortable with a good seating area and a cosy log-burning stove.
Anglers can purchase hot & cold drinks and snacks are available. There is a small amount of tackle for sale and also good parking facilities along with both male & female toilets. Disabled anglers are also made welcome - and just outside the lodge is a great place for them to fish.
