In the 1870s, Walton Angling Club was formed as an exclusive club by a group of wealthy businessmen from Glasgow. Gradually, it attracted more local folk as the surrounding countryside became more developed. Today, we still flourish as a members-only club serving the angling community in and around the picturesque village of Eaglesham. We now have almost 100 members most of whom live locally.

The club manages approximately five miles of the White Cart Water upriver from the weir at Waterfoot. We also have fishing rights for the Earn Water, a tributary of the White Cart that enters the main river at Waterfoot, and the Polnoon water that meets the Cart below Mains Farm south of Eaglesham.
Since July 2009 the club has enjoyed the fishing rights for the Pilmuir reservoir which has offered a further benefit to our members.

Membership Categories
Membership of the club is split into two categories:
ADULT
and
CONCESSION (Under 16 & Over 65 on 15th March of the current year):
The Concession rate is split into two categories depending on when you became 65 and how long you have been a member of the Club

Day permits are not available as the club is for members only, however, each member is allowed up to three visitors per season provided the visitor is accompanied by the member.
